When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! But Paul strongly encourages the single people to stay single the married people to stay married, to quit sleeping around with one another! He calls them holy and reminds them they are holy because they have Jesus living inside them through the Holy Spirit! And this is the main message of this chapter—Be holy! He says he wants us all to experience the love the Father has for us and what he has done through His Son, Jesus. He wants us to know the power that is within us as believers, those who have put their faith in Jesus. The same power that was at work in the gospels, in the book of Acts, and in the life of Paul, also works in us! Jesus said he is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and Paul makes it clear that we have the same power working in us because of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. This time, there is a man with a withered hand there and the Pharisees are waiting and watching to see what Jesus is going to do about it. Of course he heals the man and the Pharisees begin to plot on how they can kill Jesus. They follow him around accusing him of being possessed by Satan. We expect the hatred coming from the religious leaders but did you know Jesus’ own family were haters too?!?!? He had four brothers and at least two sisters and Mark tells us they did not believe him and thought he was insane! What do you say?
