When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! On the way there, he tells the disciples they will all deny him and Peter makes the infamous statement, "I will die with you and will never deny you!" and Jesus tells him, "You'll deny me three times before the rooster crows." When they get tto the garden, Jesus asks them to watch and pray but they fall asleep...three times. I know we all want to believe we would never deny Jesus but would we? Do we? When we are faced with persecution, would we be able to stick with Jesus? Peter and the rest of the disciples did not! They all denied him just as Jesus had said. He was the treasurer for the group and he has been stealing money the whole time which tells us that Judas was greedy and he loved money. What better way to get paid big bucks than to sell out Jesus to the rich religious leaders in Jerusalem! And that is exactly what Judas does. For thirty pieces of silver, which he doesn't even keep, he sells Jesus to the religious leaders and from that moment on, he planned to commit premeditated murder. When Jesus asked "Who do people say I am?" it was Peter who said with authority, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God!" It was Peter who said he would die with Jesus and even tried to defend Jesus from the militia that came to arrest him when he pulled his sword and went for the head of Malchus. However, in the blink of an eye this mighty pillar of faith denies Jesus three times after telling Jesus he would never deny him. And the whole time Peter is denying Jesus the religious leaders are having a joke of a trial and sending Jesus to the Roman authorities to be crucified. The very people that were supposed to be pointing people to the Messiah is killing the Messiah! Jesus is standing before Pilate and Pilate asks Jesus the ultimate question, "What is truth?" and the answer is right before his very eyes and he doesn't know it! What about you friend?
