When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! Funny thing is, we generally think about our own children or grandchildren but we, ourselves, are children...we are children of God! He instructs us by giving us commands, we hear them, but do we obey them? It was no different with the disciples! They were men who came from all kinds of backgrounds and occupations. The three that had special privileges, Peter, James, and John were commercial fishermen who competed in the fishing business to make a living and we’ll see this play out as they follow Jesus. They want to know “Who is the greatest person in the kingdom of heaven,” but they don’t realize they are looking at him face to face! Peter had been given the keys to the kingdom and two chapters later, James and John will come to Jesus with their mom and she asks if her two sons can sit in the places of honor in his kingdom. Because of his death we can now call God Father and He has adopted us into His family and we are called the children of God and we inherit God’s blessings. And because of Jesus conquering death when he came out of the tomb, we no longer have to fear death! If we have been washed in the blood of Jesus, we can take our last breath with a smile on our face and peace in our heart because we know what awaits us on the other side is so much better than what we have on earth! Do you have that peace in your heart or does dying scare you to death?!?! If you haven’t accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you should be scared! We are never promised tomorrow and we never know when death will come our way.
