<description>Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

<description>Paul leaves Timothy in Ephesus so he could help the elders and the church in Ephesus to fight against false teachers and help them get back on track with the will of God. In chapter 2, Paul begins giving Timothy some instructions that will help him fight the battles and keep his conscience clear. In today’s podcast, we break down two of the four things that Paul instructs Timothy to do on behalf of all men and women, kings, and all of those who are in authority. He tells Timothy these four things are also pleasing to God. The church today would greatly benefit from these four things if they would be obedient!

<description>Paul writes a letter to a young man that he pointed to Jesus and after accepting him as his Lord and Savior, Timothy joins Paul in his travels as he starts churches and visits the ones he had already established. The point of Paul writing this letter is because there are issues beginning to crop up with the Gentile church in Ephesus and Paul is going to leave Timothy in Ephesus to confront the issues. The transformation that Jesus makes in people when they dedicate their lives to him is amazing! Just look at the one who is writing this letter—Paul! He was so full of himself and who he thought he was until he met Jesus on the road to Damascus. Paul was completely changed from the inside out. He was given a new identity in Jesus and Jesus will do the same for you!

<itunes:subtitle>Is anyone "devoted" today? What about "devoted" to prayer?</itunes:subtitle>

<description>What does it mean to be “devoted” to something? I remember when I was a kid, sports players were “devoted” to a team. They played with one team their whole career. I don’t know of any player today that can say that because they follow the money. Whoever pays the most is where they go. To be “devoted” to something means you endure, you continue, even when things get hard. You don’t quit. Paul tells the church at Colosse to “devote” themselves to prayer and be watchful, with thanksgiving in their hearts. He is telling them to pray with expectation and to thank God for what is He is going to do when He answers their prayer! But if there is a delay, if the answer doesn’t come as fast as you think it should, if the hardship continues, don’t give up...keep grinding!

<description>The whole purpose of the Sermon on the Mount as we call it, was to tell his disciples how to live a life that exceeds the righteousness of the Pharisees. During his teaching, Jesus tells his disciples how to give, pray, and fast, and then he expands on the prayer part as he gives them a “model” prayer. In this episode of the GRINDIT podcast we break down this prayer so we too, can know how to pray and to have our prayers answered. Take a listen and share this with a friend!

<description>I own six guitars, a mandolin, a banjo, and a six piece drum set. I'm in my room with them when I'm at home and not once, since I have owned them, have they made a sound unless I pick the strings or beat the drums with some sticks! Guitars have to be played to make sounds! I bought my kids a guitar to learn on and they just sat in their room and was never touched. I even put some new strings on my daughter's guitar yet it sat in her closet until I took it out and made a cool light for my room with it. I paid a lot of money for those guitars, they cost me a great deal. Even greater than these guitars, we have a Savior that paid a great price so our sins can be forgiven yet, unfortunately, many of us never pick up Jesus. We just continue to reject his offer of salvation and we put him in the closet to be forgotten while we are busy doing other things.
