There are so many people today trying to gain power, doing whatever they can to climb the ladder to get power. All they have to do is look to the cross and the gospel yet, they reject it. Sure they will climb the ladder and have power, even a lot of money, but like Jesus said, “What is your soul worth? You can gain the whole world and lose your soul.” Then what? When we take our last breath, none of that power will help us. If you want to be a part of the kingdom, then you got to take part of a new covenant. That old one ain’t cutting it anymore. The new covenant between God and man is based off my body and my blood and you must accept my sacrifice and follow me. If not, you ain’t getting in.” This is difficult for many of the Jews because they thought Jesus was a blasphemer and they wouldn’t even speak his name in reverence for God! It seemed as if God was silent and you pray and you pray some more, only to give up because you think God doesn't care since He isn't answering...Did you know Jesus had unanswered prayers?!?! He sure did...in the Garden of Gethsemene. He told his disciples he was grieved to the point of death and then he went and prayed three times that God would come up with another way to get our sins forgiven. All Jesus got from God was crickets...Did he quit?
