When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! Is it a lack of faith on our part? 56:26 no Some of the disciples were trying to cast a demon out of a little boy but couldn’t get the job done. Jesus comes down the mountain and hears some arguing and wants to know what is going on. After hearing the explanation, he says, “You faithless generation, how long do I have to put up with you?” Who is he talking to? The dad? The kid? The religious leaders? The crowd? Or his disciples? So many times, when we pray for someone to be healed and nothing happens, we blame the recipient and say something like, “They don’t have enough faith.” But is this true? Is the recipient the one to blame? The answer may surprise you because Jesus is actually blaming the disciples here, the givers! This man was naked, he cut himself with stones, and he lived in a graveyard. He was a freak of nature! After a small conversation, Jesus casts the demons into a herd of pigs and they ran down the hill, jumped into the water, and were drowned. When the pig farmers ran into the village to tell the people what had happened, they came out to run Jesus out of town. They wanted to know what happened and how did Jesus do this thing. The demon acknowledges Jesus and calls him the Holy One of God. Jesus immediately shuts the demon up and casts him out of the man right there in front of the crowd. They are amazed, not only at Jesus’ teaching because he is teaching with authority and not as the teachers of the law, but they are amazed at his authority over the demons! Ig Jesus didn’t have their attention before, he has it now!
