When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! He tells them what Judgment Day is going to be like and how he is going to separate the sheep from the goats. The sheep go to heaven and spend eternity with him but the goats are rejected from his presence for eternity! What’s the difference? The sheep did…the goats didn’t. The sheep worked for the Lord and grew his kingdom. The goats did their own thing and could care less because they didn’t have a relationship with Jesus. What are we holding on to that keeps us from serving the Lord? 51:08 no A man comes to the right place, the right person, and asks the right question, his only problem is he doesn’t give the right response. The rich young man comes to Jesus and asks him, “What do I have to do to inherit eternal life?” In other words, “What do I have to do to spend eternity with you?” Jesus tells him and as Jesus is talking the man interrupts and says, “I’ve done that since I was a kid.” Thinking he was in with ease, Jesus looks at him and says, “Good job. Now, go sell all your stuff that you have acquired with your riches, give the money to the poor, then, come and follow me.” The man was sad because he loved his stuff and he didn’t want to part with any of it so he walked away from Jesus…lost. Luke 13 starts out with a tragedy. Some Jews had come to the Temple to offer their sacrifices to God and for some reason, Pilate has them murdered. Jesus takes this opportunity to teach the crowd, and his disciples, that death is imminent and it doesn't happen because we are worse sinners than someone else. He tells them regardless of how death comes, the most important thing is to repent of our sins and live for God. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death…Death is separation and because of sin we are separated from God and if we die in our sin, then we are given our wage. A wage is something we earn by working and when payday comes, we receive our check. BUT...a gift cost someone else something and they give it to us. God has given us a gift!... the free gift of eternal life through what His Son, Jesus, did for us on the cross and the empty tomb! We can choose our wage or we can choose God’s gift.
