<description>Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

<description>As a follower of Jesus, we claim to be his hands and his feet? What does that mean? Am I really being his hands and feet? We tackle this deep subject in this podcast as we look at the disciples as Jesus sends them out in pairs into the local villages to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

<description>Luke ends chapter 7 with Jesus being invited to a home of a certain Pharisee named Simon. He has a bunch of his Pharisee buddies over so they can “get to know” Jesus a little better but as they are sitting around the table an uninvited guest disrupts the fellowship. She goes straight to Jesus, breaks an alabaster jar, and pours perfume on Jesus’ feet. She is crying as she is doing this and she washed his feet with her tears, then she takes her hair and wipes them dry. Simon, the Pharisee who invited Jesus into his home, questions Jesus in his mind, “If this man was a prophet, then he should know this woman is a sinner and he wouldn’t dare let this sinner do this!” Jesus calls him out in front of his friends and puts him in his place. This woman KNEW who she was, a sinner lost without hope and that Jesus could fix her. Simon THOUGHT he knew who he was but he really didn’t. He couldn’t recognize that he was a sinner in need of a Savior. What about you? Are you going to accept him or continue to reject him even though he is sitting in your house, at your table, and giving you every opportunity to know him in a personal way?

<itunes:subtitle>Certain smells take us back in time to an event that took place. We can remember the details as if it just happened. When Mary poured the nard on Jesus feet he equated it with his burial. How many times did those people in that house go back to the cross when they smelled nard?</itunes:subtitle>

<description>Jesus is invited to Lazarus' house at Bethany because Martha and Mary have cooked a meal to honor him. While there, Mary pours nard on Jesus' feet and wipes them with her hair. The smell permeates the house and everyone there, including the disciples, heard Jesus say that Mary had done this to prepare him for burial. They had no idea what Jesus was talking about but they would by the end of the week for he would be crucified, buried, and resurrected! We can smell a certain smell and be instantly taken back in time to an event that happened in our life and remember the details well. I wonder how many times the people that were in that house would smell nard and be taken back to the cross? We all need to be reminded what Jesus did for us and to be encouraged by the hope we have in Christ and his resurrection!
