Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

Looking back in your early years of life, how many of your friends that you were so close to, are still a part of your life? Probably not many, if I had to guess. Sure, they may be a friend on social media, but you haven’t heard from them in years. Paul has poured so much into the kingdom of God, traveling over the known world and preaching the gospel, being chased, beaten, stoned, persecuted in many ways, and now he is in chains, awaiting his death. Many of his coworkers have deserted him, deceivers have come in behind him trying to shame him and convince his followers to give up on him and follow them. So now he turns to Timothy...Timothy, you know me bro...Guard the truth.

God had a plan in place long before He created anything. That plan was to use His Son, Jesus, as a sacrifice to redeem fallen man—to reconcile us back to Him. He foreknew man would choose to sin and separate from Him, yet because of His great love for us, He took care of it by sending His Son to die on a cross, be buried for three days, and resurrected becoming victorious over death and the grave. He has sent an invitation to you to be a part of His plan...are you going to accept it? It’s way more deeper than fire insurance—we are given the Same Spirit, with the same power that raised Jesus from the dead! So if you are a part of God’s plan, why then do we act so helpless, so powerless? Recognize who you are in Christ and live like a child of the victorious Savior today!

We revisit some strong language James used for his readers when he calls them, "Adulterers" and he tells them if they continue to be a friend with the world, then they are enemies of God. They, as well as we, cannot have it both ways. We are called to be holy, we have been washed in the blood of Christ, our sins have been forgiven, and we are filled with the Holy Spirit. Why then do we continue to live in sin? James says we are committing adultery and we need turn from our sin, draw near to God, He will draw near to us; that we should let our laughter turn to sadness, that we should have tears because of our sin, and our joy turn to gloom. The problem is, we are like Israel in Jeremiah 2! They couldn't admit they were in sin and their hearts had become callused! God even tells Israel they are worse than a prostitute and that they can teach a prostitute lessons. We have to realize who we are in Christ and live like it!

What a powerful chapter! What a powerful letter Paul has written to the church at Rome and God has blessed us with preserving the words he penned! In this podcast we learn that Jesus has made us friends again with God, that he has reconciled our relationship with the Father by shedding his blood for us, not because we are so good, not because we deserve it, not because we have our lives in order, no, but while we were enemies, while we were sinners! God has given us everything we need for salvation in his Son, Jesus! All we have to do is put our faith and trust in Jesus and we get to enjoy the blessings of heaven! We blew it in the Garden of Eden but God restored our relationship through Jesus and because of his sacrifice, we are made friends again with God! Hallelujah!!!

Jesus spars with the Pharisees and the teachers of the law again on the Sabbath Day when he heals a man’s withered hand in the synagogue. It was at this point that Jesus became known as an “enemy” to the Pharisees and all of the religious leaders. From this time on they would try to come up with a plan to get rid of this man who claims to be from God. After this, Jesus then goes up on a mountain alone to spend some time with the Father praying and Luke says he prayed all night long. What’s the longest prayer you have said? How much time do you spend with God? Do you have a relationship with God, with Jesus, or is He a friend? An acquaintance? When we have a relationship with someone, we spend quality time with them and there is great communication. We only spend a little time with friends or with someone we consider an acquaintance and there is little communication. Think about how much time you spend with God in prayer, reading His word, worshiping Him in a week’s time, on a daily basis…Again, do you have a relationship with God or is He more of an acquaintance?
