When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! Paul left Timothy in Ephesus to deal with people like this. People who sounded smart by telling myths and fables, using genealogies to sound educated and important, were leading people away from Jesus and destroying their faith. He took Isaac up on the mountain and got to the point of raising the knife to kill Isaac but God intervened! Then he uses Rahab as an example of faith and actions. Rahab hid the spies when they came into Jericho but, in order to do so, she lied! Rahab is a prostitute, a liar, and she is in the genealogy of Jesus! We cannot, being filled with the Holy Spirit, sit idly by and not do anything for the kingdom of God and expect to make into heaven. In fact, it is packed with a lot of great information that can be encouraging to us. For example, look at all the people God used to usher Jesus, the Messiah, into the world. They aren’t perfect at all, in fact, every one of them made bad decisions along the way yet God used those bad decisions for his glory! Women dressed as prostitutes, even a prostitute, men who committed adultery and murder, liars, deceivers, etc were all used by God to bring His Son into the world in order that he could be the sacrifice for our sins!
