<description>Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

<description>Most people completely shut down when the preacher starts talking about needing money or when a missionary asks for support but even Paul knew how important money was to his ministry! He supported himself by selling tents as he traveled around the known world at that time but it wasn’t always enough to make ends meet because he talks about being content, even when he was starving! He points out the generosity of the church at Philippi and how they supported his work by sending money to him. He tells ten that the same God that supplied his needs will supply theirs. The reality is, it takes money to do ministry and God promises blessings on us if we help supply those financial needs!

<itunes:subtitle>Why are our prayers not being answered? Is it a lack of faith on our part?</itunes:subtitle>

<description>Some of the disciples were trying to cast a demon out of a little boy but couldn’t get the job done. Jesus comes down the mountain and hears some arguing and wants to know what is going on. After hearing the explanation, he says, “You faithless generation, how long do I have to put up with you?” Who is he talking to? The dad? The kid? The religious leaders? The crowd? Or his disciples? So many times, when we pray for someone to be healed and nothing happens, we blame the recipient and say something like, “They don’t have enough faith.” But is this true? Is the recipient the one to blame? The answer may surprise you because Jesus is actually blaming the disciples here, the givers! They have a lack of faith which is crazy because they have seen miracles and performed them as well!

<description>We know Jesus was a giver and the ultimate gift he gave was his life on the cross for our sin, but his example of giving goes way back before the cross. He was always meeting people’s needs, from his disciples to the crowds that constantly gathered around him everywhere he went. After hearing the news about the death of John the Baptizer, Jesus went off to be alone but some people heard where he was going and a they ran ahead of him to beat him to the spot. As they went, they told others and by the time Jesus got to his destination, a crowd of over 5,000 men, not including women and children had gathered to meet him. The man went off to grieve but instead, he was met by this greedy, selfish crowd who wanted their needs met. How did Jesus handle the situation? He took time to heal their sick, to feed them using a miracle, and taught them about the kingdom. He was moved with compassion and he put his needs aside, and met the needs of the crowd. We are told we are to be like Jesus. Are we? Do people see a giver or a selfish person in the crowd? The Problem of Suffering” by Kippy Myers. I’ll put a link to the book in show notes (https://www.hesterpublications.com/store/p104/TheProblemof_Suffering.html).
