When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! Where did they learn of these gods? It all starts in the Garden of Eden, the fall of man, and man being kicked out. It wasn’t until Seth had a son names Enosh when people started worshipping Yahweh by name. That was a period of around 240 years! Paul tells us that people had their own idea of God and they fashioned God into their own ideas and images. Think about it...when Moses challenged Pharaoh in Egypt, they had gods for everything yet they did not worship the One true God—Yahweh. The people who were listening and witnessed the miracle thought Paul and Barnabas were gods, Zeus and Hermes, in human form. After some Jews arrived from Iconium they persuaded the crowd against Paul and Barnabas and they stoned Paul dragging his lifeless body out of the city. The brethren gathers around Paul and prays. He immediately gets up and the very next day starts sixty mile trip to Derbe as if nothing ever happened! After preaching in Derbe for a while the two return to the cities they had visited and started churches. They appoint elders and strengthen the faith of the brethren.
