When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! You wanted to be careful in who you chose to be the leader because the object of the game was to do everything the leader did so you can stay in the game. If you didn’t choose a close friend to be the leader, they may choose hard things to follow just to try and get you to booted out of the game. Paul says we have two leaders we can follow: 1. Satan or 2. Jesus. He says we are already following Satan if we are living a rebellious, sinful life, gratifying our fleshly desires. But God is rich in mercy and is giving us the opportunity to choose Jesus and follow him so we can be with God for eternity. But we don't have to and we strive not to! Paul says we are to not yield our bodies as instruments of sin but righteousness. We actually have a choice! Sin is born out of temptations that come from a desire within ourselves. We can stop it dead in its tracks but far too often we choose to carry the temptation out and sin.
