Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

Warning! This episode is not suitable for children!

Mature Audience Only

Ever since I was old enough to read the bible and understand it, I have come across the words “Fornication” and “Adultery” but did not know there was a difference. The two are closely related but they each mean something different. Most translations will use the words “sexual immorality” instead of “Fornication”. In the church at Corinth, a young man was committing sexual immorality with his stepmom! Yeah! He was having sex with his dad’s wife! And the bad thing was, the church was tolerating the sin and ignoring it! Paul says, “This can’t be happening and you need to deal with it immediately!”

When I was a kid back in the 80s, there was a milk slogan that said, “Milk, it does a body good” It was an advertising slogan used by the American Dairy Association from the 1980s through the 1990s. The campaign aimed to highlight milk's health benefits such as building strong bones, muscle repair, and providing essential nutrients like protein and calcium. Peter talks about consuming the milk of God, even craving it, as we are being built into God’s temple, but Paul tells the church at Corinth they should be off of milk by now and eating solid food. What is he talking about? He is talking about wisdom—the world’s wisdom, which is what the church at Corinth was drinking from, verses God’s wisdom that comes from the Holy Spirit...whom, by the way, lives inside them! They were being led by the wrong wisdom!

<itunes:subtitle> Jesus said our eye is a lamp to our body and if the eye is healthy, it will let light in but if it's not healthy, then our bodies are full of darkness. </itunes:subtitle>

Why do we use lamps? We use lamps to give off light so we can see in the dark room. But what happens if we turn on the switch and the lamp doesn't come on? The bulb doesn't light up? We'll be left in the dark and the lamp becomes nothing but an ornament to look at or a huge paperweight! Jesus said our eye is a lamp to our body and if the eye is healthy, it will let light in but if it's not healthy, then our bodies are full of darkness. Then he says there are many who think they are full of light but they are actually full of darkness. This comes after he said the disciples righteousness must exceed that of the Pharisees. The Pharisees thought they were following God and yet they weren't. In fact, they wanted to kill God in the flesh--Jesus! They had everybody fooled, except God Himself. What about your eyes? Are they healthy?

Death is coming and there is no way around it. As morbid as it is to think about, it’s still a fact. Once we take our last breath on this earth, we take our first breath in eternity. Where will you spend it? Where your fear is will give you the answer! Jesus said, “Don’t fear someone who can kill your body but fear the One who can send your soul to hell!” Do you fear God? The One who literally has our soul in the palm of His hand? He has the power to send us to hell or welcome us into heaven where he is. You have a choice! We all have fear but some of us have misplaced fear. We fear things that we have no control over for example, look at the news. People watch the news and they become full of fear, anxiety, and they worry about what is going to happen and how will it affect them. Fear can be healthy for example: I fear God because He holds my future in His hands and if I choose to reject Him, then I will spend eternity in hell never to have a second chance but if I choose His Son Jesus and His sacrifice for me, then I get to be with Him in heaven for eternity! Where is your fear?
