Several of these men were experienced on the water, they had been on this lake fishing their whole lives, but they were full of fear because this was out of their control and they thought they were about to die. Out of fear and desperation, they turn to Jesus and ask him to save them. For some people, no matter how much they have seen and heard about Jesus, it will take a storm. Young people to older adults have lost hope and made the decision to give up on life. Why? This is probably the biggest question that never gets answered? Feelings of abandonment to anger overtakes the ones left behind as they try to put the pieces of the past together to try and figure out why their friend or loved one took their own life. Anxiety and depression are things that people do not understand and for many they think that the person ought to just get over whatever it is that is bothering them and get on with their life. It's not that easy and for this episode of the GRINDIT Podcast I talk about my personal experience with suicide and some scriptures that help me deal with it on a daily basis. When they are in Troas, Paul has a vision of a man in Macedonia asking him to come help there so one would think since Paul has this "Macedonian Call" that things would be rockin' and rollin' but that's not the case. When Paul arrives at Philippi there's not even a synagogue to visit, there's no huge crowd welcoming him, and they didn't roll out the red carpet for him. What he found was a few women that had gathered by the river so he shares the gospel with them as they carry on a conversation. How many times have you said, "If God would just show me what I need to do I'd do it?" Would you really?
