<description>Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

<description>Did you ever watch Animal Planet or one of those animal videos that show a lion or some type of predator watching a herd of animals just waiting for one to leave the herd? The predator literally lays in wait just biding time until one of those unsuspecting animals walks away from the herd just enough to be vulnerable, and as soon as they get away from the protection of the herd, the predator attacks. This is what Paul is warning Timothy about and he tells him, “Timothy, guard what God has entrusted to you.”

<description>James doesn’t hold back when it comes to showing favoritism in the church, among the Lord’s body. He throws a punch to the face when he says, “There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others.” We have to show mercy to anybody and everybody because God has shown us mercy! The old saying, “Birds of a feather, flock together” may be true but it shouldn’t be true in the church! Cliques in the church goes way back to the early church in the book of Acts and the church at Corinth. They were slammed then, they are slammed now. Cliques, or showing favoritism, does not belong in the body of Christ and we are to show mercy to anyone that is washed in the blood of Christ, regardless of their bank account or social status!

<description>When God made Adam, He said, “It is not good for man to be alone,” and then He created Eve. Why? Because God knew man needed community. Too many people try to isolate themselves and it is not healthy at all, which I believe is a reason why so many people give up on life. The author of Hebrews encourages his readers to continue to be a part of community. Why? Because when we are with other people our focus tends to be on them and not ourselves. We find out really fast that we aren’t the only ones suffering and that other people who have been through a similar struggle can offer us wisdom to help us get through, to continue to endure. And that is his message throughout this letter, “Endure, keep going, do not give up!” It’s a great message even for us today. We may not be facing persecution, but we are facing hard times, difficult trials, and can easily be discouraged just like the audience of this letter so listen to his message and find strength to keep pressing forward!
