Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

God’s grace allows us the opportunity to hear the gospel and believe the gospel. God’s grace gives us time to accept Jesus and live for him, even while people reject Jesus, doing their own thing, every second they live they are given grace because they have breath in their lungs and have the capability to accept Jesus and the sacrifice he made on the cross for our sins. But someday, that grace is going to turn into vengeance when Jesus returns. All of those who rejected Jesus will separated from God for eternity, never having another opportunity to repent of their sins and be washed in the blood of Jesus. Don’t let God’s grace run out on you. Accept Jesus today so you will be with the redeemed in heaven for eternity!

Paul tells the church at Thessalonica, “And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows.” The motivating factor for serving Jesus is and should always be “love.” Jesus told his disciples the people would know we belong to him because the love we have for one another. Paul says his love overflows for the church at Thessalonica but also he brags on their love for one another and their love for others in their community...and that is despite of persecution that the outsiders are bringing upon them! Does your love overflow into others’ lives? Can people actually see Jesus in you and your love for him?

The church at Thessalonica started in Acts 17. Paul and Silas made their way there after getting run out of Philippi. Luke says Paul reasoned with the Jews at the synagogue for three Sabbaths while most historians say Paul stayed there for about three months. He was run out of Thessalonica as well and went to Berea. However, that three month period made a huge impact there! The men and women who chose to obey the gospel took it to heart and wanted others to know about Jesus too! They were known in the region around them as people who did faithful work, loving deeds, because they put their hope in Jesus. May that be said of us!

I have heard this passage in Ephesians 5 about husbands and wives, marriages, taught for over thirty years and not once, that I can remember, did anyone talk about the context. All I have heard I have heard is these verses used to tell wives on how to submit to her husband and how the husband is to treat his wife by loving her. I don’t believe that’s Paul’s intent in this section of scripture. It’s part of it, but he is telling the married couple to do these things because of a specific reason—unity in the body of Christ. It goes back to chapter 4 when he is talking about unity and unity being the will of God.

In this episode we talk about Predestination and what that exactly means but what is more important than Predestination is what Paul said before he gives us the idea: All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. I don’t think we have a clue of what it means to be in Christ and what blessings we have because of Jesus. It is absolutely mind blowing and what is incredible is that God did it even while we continue to reject Him! His love for us is absolutely amazing! We have everything we could possibly need and more in Jesus so why do we continue to reject him? Why would you not want salvation, healing, earthly blessings, and spiritual blessings that are in heavenly places?

James continues his talk with the rich and the poor in the body of Christ. He takes some shots at the rich people because they are showing favoritism towards their rich brethren and shunning the poor followers of Jesus who are right there in the room with them. He says we are to love one another like we love ourselves...sound familiar? James is basically reminding these Christians what his brother had said, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” Then he reminds them of the mercy God has shown them and he tells them, “If you don’t show mercy toward your brethren, even the poor ones, God will not show you mercy.” Since we are saved by the grace and mercy of God, we better take heed to what he says! Go out and show mercy today!

How do we want to be known? People today are so angry and ready to fly off the handle at the drop of a hat, especially if they are involved with an organization with a bunch of letters in it. Think about it...most of thew time when they are shown on the news, what are they doing? Yelling...Why? Because they are angry! We see them going into stores and wreaking havoc, destroying everything and anything they can get their hands on...Why? Because they are angry! Do we want to be known as someone who stays angry and mad all the time or do we want to be known as loving, caring, compassionate, etc... If we want to reflect Jesus and be his hands and feet, then we have to be SLOW to anger, slow to speak...why? Because when we are angry, we say things we don’t mean and we tearing people down by our words. He says, “Be quick to listen...” What would happen if we opened our ears and kept our mouths shut?

If we want to reflect Jesus and be his hands and feet, then we have to be SLOW to anger, slow to speak...why? Because when we are angry, we say things we don’t mean and we tearing people down by our words. He says, “Be quick to listen...” What would happen if we opened our ears and kept our mouths shut?

At the end of Romans 12, Paul discusses the hard truth that we are to love our enemies and we are to bless them. This idea is not original with Paul because Jesus told his disciples to do the very same thing in Matthew 5:43-44. This is a great discussion in today's podcast that you will not only enjoy, but be challenged by as well!

The author encourages his readers by telling them we are receiving an unshakable kingdom and since we are receiving this unshakable kingdom, there are some things we need to do. In this episode we cover some of those things he says to do such as: 1) love one another as brothers and sisters in Christ, 2) show hospitality to strangers, 3) remember those in prison, 4) remember those who are being mistreated, 5) give honor to marriage, and 6) Don’t love money. Basically, the author is telling his readers to not be selfish and think about others, which is exactly what we should be doing as Christ followers because that is the example Jesus showed us!

“If you want to be my disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else—your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple...that's the words of Jesus. But I thought God is a God of love? Unconditional love so why is Jesus telling us we have to hate everybody if we want to be his disciple? It's all about putting him first in our lives. Who is first in your life? You? Your spouse? Your children? Your parents? Or Jesus?

I heard a guy say, "God hates me!" because of something he was dealing with...But is that true? Luke 13 starts out with a tragedy. Some Jews had come to the Temple to offer their sacrifices to God and for some reason, Pilate has them murdered. Jesus takes this opportunity to teach the crowd, and his disciples, that death is imminent and it doesn't happen because we are worse sinners than someone else. He tells them regardless of how death comes, the most important thing is to repent of our sins and live for God. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death…Death is separation and because of sin we are separated from God and if we die in our sin, then we are given our wage. A wage is something we earn by working and when payday comes, we receive our check. BUT...a gift cost someone else something and they give it to us. God has given us a gift!... the free gift of eternal life through what His Son, Jesus, did for us on the cross and the empty tomb! We can choose our wage or we can choose God’s gift. What is your choice?

<itunes:subtitle>Fact: God loves everybody, yes...everybody, His love is unconditional, and nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38). You've heard it said before, "God hates the sin but sin loves the sinner." A problem I see is that people in today's society have confused God's unconditional love with salvation. Yes, God loves everyone but not everyone is saved!
Jesus tells the religious leaders he is from the Father and is doing the Father's Will. And not only that he gives several witnesses to back up his claim! We have to to be more than religious...we have to be Jesus. They were more concerned with the man carrying his mat than the man himself! We have to show some grace, mercy, love and compassion just as Jesus did!
