Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

Paul has a flashback to when he was child as he writes his letter to the church at Corinth. He wasn't having pleasant memories, instead he was telling this church who is full of believers who think they are so mature, so wise, and have so many gifts of the Spirit, how they are acting like children the way they are acting toward one another. They are divided, certain ones eat all the food, drink all the wine, they brag a lot, some think they are higher than others, and Paul says, "Y'all need to grow up, act mature, and love one another. Without love, y'all have nothing and are just a bunch of noise makers! Grow up people!"

I cannot tell you how many times someone has come to me and said, “Remember when...” and they give me a bunch of details about something that happened to us as kids. The problem is, I cannot remember anything about the event. I can’t remember it even happening! How can they remember so many details about it and I can’t even remember it happening at all? The problem is with me...I forget things easily and this is what Paul is telling the church. Y’all need to look at the past, the history of your ancestors and learn from their mistakes. You are continuing the same path they were on and God punished them for their sin. You do not want God to punish you for sin so quit giving into the temptations and run to God. The one who provides everything for you including a perfect sacrifice, His son, that washes away your sin!
