<description>Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

<description>Why do people feel as if nothing bad should come there way? It is said that we are either about to go through a storm, we are going through a storm, or the storm has passed. It's a nonending cycle that we cannot control and these storms come because of various reasons. We have to be careful of not blaming God or geting mad at Him when they come. We must accept the fact that storms will come and when they do, we have to draw closer to God...not run away. In today's podcast, we look deeper into Jesus beiung led into the wilderness to be tempted right after the mountain top experience of his baptism.

<description>Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up on a mountain where they witness something amazing—the Transformation of Jesus. The word in the Greek means metamorphosis which is what we see when a caterpillar turns into a butterfly. Jesus’ face shines as bright as the sun and his clothes are a brilliant white. Peter, bless his heart, tries to interrupt what was happening but God the Father overshadows the three disciples with a cloud and tells them, “This is My dearly loved Son who brings me great joy. Listen to him.” God the Father could have scolded Peter but He shows grace but in doing so, He gives affirmation to Jesus. Fathers, our children need our affirmation! They need to know, they need to hear from us, that we love them and they bring us great joy! Dads…go talk to your kids!

<itunes:subtitle>Jesus then goes up on a mountain alone to spend some time with the Father praying and Luke says he prayed all night long. How much time do you spend with God?</itunes:subtitle>

<description>Jesus spars with the Pharisees and the teachers of the law again on the Sabbath Day when he heals a man’s withered hand in the synagogue. It was at this point that Jesus became known as an “enemy” to the Pharisees and all of the religious leaders. From this time on they would try to come up with a plan to get rid of this man who claims to be from God. After this, Jesus then goes up on a mountain alone to spend some time with the Father praying and Luke says he prayed all night long. What’s the longest prayer you have said? How much time do you spend with God? Do you have a relationship with God, with Jesus, or is He a friend? An acquaintance? When we have a relationship with someone, we spend quality time with them and there is great communication. We only spend a little time with friends or with someone we consider an acquaintance and there is little communication. Think about how much time you spend with God in prayer, reading His word, worshiping Him in a week’s time, on a daily basis…Again, do you have a relationship with God or is He more of an acquaintance?
