    <description>Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

  <itunes:subtitle>Does the American "church" look anything like the church in the first century?</itunes:subtitle>
  <itunes:duration>38:33</itunes:duration>
  <itunes:explicit>no</itunes:explicit>
  <itunes:image href="https://media24.fireside.fm/file/fireside-images-2024/podcasts/images/0/0a3d7c37-e05f-4d17-819e-b89901cb45a4/cover.jpg?v=12"/>
  <description>When we look at what Paul says about the church at Thessalonica, it puts the American church to shame. This church was facing severe persecution yet they worked hard and did loving deeds. The Greek word for “deeds” is kopos and it means they toiled and labored, even against opposition, to the point of exhaustion. They made such an impact for the kingdom that Paul said everywhere they go, people are talking about the church in Thessalonica. In America, we have turned “church” into big buildings with air conditioning, we come in and sing a few songs then listen to a preacher for a few minutes, while our kids are hanging out in youth ministry where they are entertained for a while. We soak it all in like a sponge, go home, and hardly mention Jesus, if at all, outside of that building. We expect people to just “come in” instead of us “going out” and bringing them in. What have we done?

  <itunes:subtitle>A guitar that is out of tune does not make beautiful music! Is your life in tune with God?</itunes:subtitle>

  <description>There are many things that can cause I guitar to be out of tune but just looking at it, you wouldn't know it was out of tune. However, once those strings are strummed...oof, it sounds like a nightmare! So the musician retunes the guitar and starts to jam and beautiful music is made. Well, we are like guitars. It doesn't take much to get our lives out of tune with God and what's sad is we don't even realize we are out of tune! We let sin creep in and God becomes distorted. We need the Holy Spirit to get us back in tune so God can use us to make beautiful music for His glory! Are you jammin'?
