<description>Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

<description>Like it or not, slavery has existed for a long time and it existed when Jesus was walking on the earth. When Paul was traveling around on his missionary journeys, he met many slaves and masters. He includes them in his letter to the church at Ephesus and he encourages them to work towards unity by being obedient. The key for God to be glorified in our lives, whether slave or free, is unity. From husbands and wives, their children, to slaves and their masters, we all have to get rid of all selfishness, fleshly desires, put others first, listen to one another, be obedient to instruction, and remember who we serve, God.

<description>James has been hammering the rich and addressing the poor but at the end of his letter he is pulling them all together and saying, “We are one and it’s time to act like it.” Then he goes through a series of “You” questions... If any of you...then...and he gives a solution to each one. He had just said we should be patient waiting for the Lord’s return and now he says while we wait, act like this. One thing James mentions specifically is the sick should call for the elders of the church to pray for them and they will be healed by their prayer in faith because the Lord will heal them! We either believe that or we don’t and the way most churches operate today, we don’t! God hasn’t changed at all so what’s the problem? We are. We want to be in control and as long as we are in control, God cannot work. It’s been James’ message from the beginning...Seek God and His wisdom, and let Him have control.

<description>Before Jesus leaves Jericho to continue to Jerusalem, he tells the crowd that continues to follow him a parable about a nobleman who was made king and he had ten servants that he gave some money to so they could invest it while he was gone and benefit the kingdom. Luke tells his readers why Jesus gave the crowd this parable, “He told them a story to correct the impression that the Kingdom of God would begin right away.” The Jews had already tried to make Jesus a king when he fed the 5,000, the problem was they had wrong expectations. Jesus didn’t come to set up an earthly kingdom, he didn’t come to deliver the Jews from the Roman oppression, his kingdom would be a spiritual one, one that would be in a whole different realm, a different place called heaven. Don’t be mistaken like the Jews, the kingdom is already here and you can be a part of it!
