Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

One of the biggest debates in churches today is, “Should preachers get paid?” and if they should, then how much? Where do you draw the line? Is he to make more than the average income of the congregation? And why do churches hide the preacher’s salary in the budget? Why do they not make it public? People see these megachurch preachers with their ginormous houses, private jets, owning their own jet, the fancy cars they drive and completely turned off from the gospel because of their extravagant lifestyle. Paul says he doesn’t get paid for preaching the gospel, however, he was supported at times by some of the churches he started. They would send a monetary gift to him even though he never asked for it. So yes, preachers should get paid, but the question becomes “How much?”

The church at Corinth was concerned with who baptized them, which minister of the gospel they liked the best, and this was stirring up jealousy, strife, contention, arguments, and all of this was leading to division. Paul explains to the church that he, along with Peter, Apollos, and any other teacher that came to the church to speak, is nothing. They are all laborers that have a job—to plant and water seed. That’s it. That’s all we can do! We plant seed, we water seed, but we cannot make seed produce fruit! Only God can do that! Therefore, he is telling the church in Corinth, these people you are dividing over are not important at all. The one who is important is Jesus and you should be focusing all of your time and energy on him!
