<description>Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

<description>Paul tells Timothy his life has been poured out as an offering to God. What is he talking about? In the Old Testament, Jacob made an offering to God and with it, he poured out a drink with his offering. In Exodus, God commanded the priests to offer a drink offering along with the sacrifices that they make in the morning and the evening. Jesus was partaking the Passover with his disciples when he tells them, “This is the blood of the new covenant that is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive many people of their sins.” Paul gave everything to Jesus and to spread the gospel. He knew his life was coming to an end and he tells Timothy, “It’s your turn...give it all you got!”

<itunes:subtitle>A leper knows Jesus is his hope and he does what he has to in order to get his healing...</itunes:subtitle>

<description>As Jesus is coming down the mountain after teaching his disciples about being righteous, he is encountered by a leper. This leper should have been in quarantine, living in a leper colony but he does something bold...he went against God's laws in order to get to Jesus. He pops out of nowhere, kneels before Jesus stopping him in his tracks, and calls him Lord. I can't help but wonder if there were people in the crowd freaking out over the leper being near them and talking with Jesus but the leper didn't care; he knew Jesus was his only option for a normal life, Jesus was his hope, and he did what he had to in order to get to Jesus. What about you? When are you going to realize Jesus is your only hope? Sure, you may be able to do many things on your own, but you can't save yourself! It takes the blood of a sacrifice, the blood of THE sacrifice, Jesus.

<description>In Hebrews 9 the author starts talking about how the new covenant is better than the old covenant. He begins by describing the tabernacle, how the Holy Place was separated from the Holiest of Holies and the furniture that was included in each room. There was a thick curtain that separated man from God, but also, the people were separated from God and had to have a priest intercede on their behalf! It was all about separation and in the old covenant, the Gentiles were left out because the old covenant was made between God and the Jews. Now that Jesus has established a new covenant, there is no more separation! There is no more Jew, no more Gentile because we are one in Christ. And the best part is, we have direct access to God because of the blood Jesus shed on the cross!

<description>What a book for our day and time! Yes it was written nearly two thousand years ago but it's message is timeless: Jesus is better and don't give up on him! In this episode of the GRINDIT Podcast, I pull out some amazing verses from the book to give a preview of what is to come. Hebrews 12:1-3 is actually the basis of this podcast! Our goal at GRINDIT Podcast is to encourage people to keep their eyes on Jesus and not give up! I look forward to breaking this book down with you in the coming weeks. If you have something you would like for me to discuss, email me at thegrinditpodcast@gmail.com....

<description>On the way to Jerusalem to die for the sins of man, Jesus goes in a village on the border of Galilee and Samaria. As he passes through he hears some people yelling at him and asking him to have mercy on them. It was ten lepers and they wanted to be healed. They knew Jesus was a miracle worker and that he is their hope so they cry out to him. He doesn’t have a three week long bible study nor does he tell them, “OK, you’re healed.” He simply tells them, “Go show yourself to the priest,” which is what a person with leprosy had to do when the leprosy was gone so they could be pronounced “Clean” and could reenter society again. They didn’t receive their healing until after they started walking and the sad part of the story is only one came back to say “Thank You” and he was a Samaritan! It’s easy for us to run to God when times are hard, but don’t forget Him when your blessing comes and you’re walking on the mountain top! Always be thankful and never forget Jesus and what he has done for you and me.
