When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! If he were alive today, John the Baptizer would be considered a homeless man and be an outcast to society. I doubt anyone would listen to his message today! I seriously doubt anyone would travel out of town to listen to him preach! But the time was right and John did exactly what he was born to do—prepare the way for the Messiah and that is what he did. He preached a message of repentance and baptized people who were obedient to the message. The power is not in the person but in the message and that message is Jesus! Paul talks about Christians putting on the armor of God in Ephesians 6 but it's all defensive! There is only a mention of an offensive weapon--the word of God. But this is all we need for in verse 10 he says we are to "be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power." Without Jesus, we are powerless but with Jesus, we can stand against anything that comes our way!
