When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! These pagans put their faith in idols, false gods, that couldn’t even speak, they could not communicate with the very people that were serving them. The pagans worshipped these false gods, carved idols in a certain image of these gods, would burn incense, make sacrifices, even sacrificed their children to them in extreme cases! Paul says, “Once were some of you but now you are Temple of God, His dwelling place, filled with His Spirit, and He has a relationship with you and has given you specific gifts to help the body function properly.” Are you a pagan? Or are you filled with the Spirit of God? If so, are you a part of the body of Christ? Are you meeting together with the believers when they assemble? Salvation is a gift from God, Right? When we receive a gift from someone, we have to do something...we have to receive that gift! James says if we aren’t doing something with our faith, if that faith isn’t producing actions in us and through us, then our faith is dead and useless. We throw away useless things. We bury dead things. The love Jesus has for us should be enough to allow good deeds to flow from us naturally. Do people see your good deeds? Jesus was moved by their excitement and was filled with joy but he tells them, “Don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.” Miracles are awesome but the Miracle Worker is the greatest ever! So many churches, so many Christians today are looking for miracles when we should be looking for the miracle worker Jesus and drawing close to him. And that is the message Jesus had for those disciples! Rejoice, not in the miracles, but that your names are registered in heaven! We may never see a miracle but we definitely see the miracle worker some day!
