Jesus tells them, "Guys, this building, as huge as it is, will be destroyed and there will not be one stone left on top of another." It blew their minds! How can this be? When will it happen? Jesus then answers their question and in this episode we look at a first hand witness to the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in AD 70 by the Romans. It happened just as Jesus said it would. When Jesus died on the cross, the veil of this Temple was torn in half signifying we now have direct access to God through Jesus. We don't need anyone to go to God on our behalf! Luke finishes chapter two talking about Jesus staying behind in Jerusalem when he was twelve years old. It was a four day journey back home to Nazareth and they had been traveling about a day when they noticed Jesus was missing. It took them three days to find him! Can you imagine the panic they felt?!?! This is all we know about the childhood of Jesus. Jesus would be starting his ministry at the age of thirty and it would kickoff with John the Baptizer baptizing him in the Jordan River. Jesus knew his mission from an early age and he never backed away from it. He became our perfect sacrifice and his blood washes our sins away and because of his sacrifice, we are made right in the sight of God…IF we have accepted him as our Lord and Savior! Death is imminent and cannot be avoided. When you think about death are you filled with fear or peace? If we know Jesus as our Lord and Savior then we don’t have to fear death because when we take our last breath on earth, we take our first breath in heaven where we will worship our Lord for eternity!

They told them not to preach or teach in the name of Jesus again but the apostles said they would rather obey God. 34:28 no God used Peter and John to heal the lame man and a crowd gathers to see what had happened. Peter takes the opportunity to preach Jesus to them and many believed. However, as they were preaching the religious leaders show p with some temple guards and arrest Peter and John. The next day they are called in for questioning and the religious leaders try to intimidate them but since they were filled with the Holy Spirit, they were confident and were bold. They told the religious leaders that they had crucified Jesus but God raised him back to life and made him the Cornerstone. The religious leaders tried to use their power and shut the apostles up by telling them they cannot preach or teach in the name of Jesus any more which is why I titled this episode, "Shut Your Face!" The apostles continued to share Jesus with anyone who was willing to listen. They said they would rather obey God. And listen to what the religious leaders had to say about these two men, "They realized they had been with Jesus..." He seizes the opportunity to preach about Jesus' death, burial, and the resurrection to the huge crowd that had gathered to see what happened. 32:50 no Acts 3 starts off with the healing of the lame man. On a daily basis this man was brought by someone, perhaps his family, in order to beg for money. With the hundreds of people that would be walking through the gate of the temple to worship, his chances of collecting some money were great! Peter and John decided to go to the 3 o'clock prayer meeting at the temple but they never made it. They saw the lame man as they were walking by and he asked them for some money but what he received was far greater! Peter reaches down and grabs his arm, helps him to his feet, and instantly this man who was paralyzed since birth was able to stand on his feet, walk, and then leaping praising God! People saw it and a crowd gathered to see what had just taken place.
