<description>Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

<itunes:subtitle>The dictionary's definition of "Content" doesn't sound too much like what Paul meant when he said he was "content" in every aspect of life.</itunes:subtitle>

<description>Paul says he has learned to be content in any situation he finds himself in? What does that mean? The dictionary defines it as being happy and having peace no matter what but is that what Paul means? Not hardly...Happiness depends on outside circumstances. If the outside circumstances are good, then I’m happy but if not, well then, I’m either mad, sad, worried, or some other emotion. Interestingly enough, God is not concerned about our “Happiness” but He is concerned about us and he knows that outside circumstances will affect us and make us like a rollercoaster. But...that doesn’t have to be the case! We can be, like Paul, to learn to be “content”! No matter what the outside circumstances are, we can be at peace because we have Jesus.

<description>Jesus said John the Baptizer had haters and what he do? Nothing but live in the wilderness, preach about the kingdom of God, baptize people for the remission of sin, and lay the foundation for the Messiah, just as God had told him to do. But Jesus also had haters! Why would anybody hate a man that healed the sick, cast out demons, raise the dead, show compassion and hope to everyone that met him?!?! Yet, Jesus said himself that he had haters! The truth is, no matter how good of a person you are, no matter what you do, what you say, or how hard you try not to, YOU WILL HAVE HATERS! Just don’t let the haters shut you up and discourage your faith. Jesus ends chapter 11 with a prayer for you and me, then offers us an invitation, “Come to me, all who are weary and heavy burdened, and I’ll give you rest.” Need a break from life? Need some rest? Accept Jesus’ invitation and that’s where you’ll find it…

<description>Why did Jesus talk to Paul after not speaking audibly to him in roughly 18 years? Was Paul discouraged? Was he ready to give up? Throw in the towel? Maybe he wasn’t ready to quit but perhaps he was thinking: “Why am I doing this?“ or “I gave up a better life for this?” or “Is this really worth it?” He just had a confrontation with some Jews at the synagogue where he had been trying to tell them Jesus is the Messiah but they rejected his message and insulted him so he got frustrated, shook the dust from his feet, and told them he was going to the Gentiles. So perhaps, in his frustration and disappointment he was discouraged and needed a pep talk. As always, perfect timing for Jesus to show up and encourage Paul. We all get tired, discouraged, and need a pep talk every now and then, so call a friend, send a message encouraging them and let them know you are thinking of them. It will be like a breath of fresh air and wind in their sails to keep grinding!
