When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! You are worth God dying for! 35:25 no <p>I did a Google search on the cost of Herd’s Temple which is the Temple Jesus and the disciples, even Paul and his coworkers, are familiar with, and money wise, the estimation was over $300 billion. Yes, that is Billion with a “B”! It all came tumbling down when the Romans destroyed it in AD70! It’s literally laying around the foundation of the Temple in a pile of rubble! Jesus said, “Destroy this Temple and I will rebuild it in three days,” talking about himself. How valuable is Jesus? He is priceless! You can’t put a value on God coming down to earth and living as a man, laying down his life voluntarily to become the sacrifice that washes away sin! And not only that, he chooses to live inside his people through the Holy Spirit! So why would we choose to carry that priceless person with us into sin? That is Paul’s message to the church at Corinth. Paul gives his resume of how he accomplished a lot of stuff as a Jew, how he was very zealous for God and kept the law faultlessly, yet without Jesus they were nothing but trash. The word literally means “Thrown out to the dogs.” He says, “Anything I have accomplished outside of Jesus is worthless, it’s garbage and needs to be thrown out. Think of all the time and effort put into your accomplishments. What if we put the same effort in our relationship with Jesus? Wow! In this episode of the GRINDIT Podcast, we take a look at two parables: the hidden treasure and the pearl. In both of these parables someone is searching for something. One treasure hunter has heard about a certain buried treasure in a field so he goes looking for it. When he finds it, he reburies it, goes and sells everything he has so he can purchase the field, and now the treasure is now his. In the second, a merchant who deals in pearls is always looking for that one pearl that is worth a lot of money, the mother pearl if you will. If they could just find that one pearl, their life would be complete. Many people are still looking for that pearl but what they don’t realize is that pearl is Jesus, that treasure is Jesus. He is worth giving up everything to follow. He should be THE most important thing in our life. What is that pearl, that treasure you seek? However you answer that question, if it’s not Jesus, that is the very thing that is keeping you from following him which is called an idol. What is your soul worth?
