<description>Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

<description>While talking about freedom and that freedom coming from Jesus, Paul issues a warning to the church at Galatia, “Don’t use your freedom to gratify the flesh and its desires. He then posts a list of sins that gratify the flesh and in that list he says, “Those who do these and things similar, will not inherit the kingdom of God.” In the next breath, he lists the fruit of the Spirit and he says, “You’re free to do these things as much as you want.” Why? Because they bring glory to God. When God is holding our leash, and the Holy Spirit is leading us, the fruit we produce will show it.

<description>It’s day 2 of being in Jerusalem. As Jesus was coming into town he is hungry. Hungry people look for something to eat and that’s what Jesus did. He sees a fig tree and goes to get some figs off it but there aren’t any. Jesus knew there wouldn’t be any figs on that tree and instead of miraculously producing figs on the tree, he cursed it and it immediately withers! Why did he do this? Because he wanted to remind the disciples of his power over nature and he wanted to teach them a lesson on faith...something the religious leaders would not have at all as we see at the end of chapter 21. They were so mad at Jesus because of the stories he told them, they wanted to arrest him immediately!

<itunes:subtitle>The mustard seed is a small seed and many would consider it insignificant, but when it is planted in the ground it becomes a large tree and birds make their homes in it. It becomes significant.</itunes:subtitle>

<description>Jesus tells the parable of the Mustard Seed. It’s such a small seed and it seems insignificant to many but it actually has many uses. But when planted in the ground, this tiny seed becomes a tall tree, roughly nine feet tall, stands out above everything in the field, and provides a place for birds to build their nests. The kingdom of God seems insignificant to many people and they don’t think anything about it but to many it is everything. Their world is focused, or centered, on Jesus. They allow him to work through them and they grow tall, standing out in order that others may see him; where others can choose to build their nest in him to find rest. We must allow Jesus to work in us so we can stand out, not for selfish reasons, but so others will be attracted to him; So they too, can build a home in him.

<description>Zacchaeus had obstacles to overcome to be able to see Jesus but he didn’t let that stop him. He didn’t listen to the doubters, the naysayers, the haters because he was a hated tax collector. They could have let him through to see Jesus but they wouldn’t because they couldn’t stand the guy. But instead of giving up and going home, Zacchaeus planned. Not only did he plan, he executed his plan and it he got to see Jesus. Not only did he see Jesus, Jesus invited himself to Zacchaeus’ house to eat a meal with him! Who are you listening to? What plans have you given up on because of the doubting words of people around you? Don’t follow the crowd…plan your route and do not deviate from it, and you will be glad you didn’t give up and followed through!
