<description>Let's face it...life sometimes is hard and can just suck. When we are faced with life's challenges we can be discouraged, get tired, and become weary. What we need is motivation, encouragement, and a helping hand that keeps us going. That's the idea of GRINDIT! We find our strength to endure when we focus on Jesus. God's own Son wasn't exempt from life's challenges and He didn't do anything to deserve what he went through! And yet He did...willingly, therefore we find our hope in Him.

<itunes:subtitle>Jesus just fed the 5,000, or more people and yet the Pharisees wonder why his disciples don't wash their hands ceremonially...</itunes:subtitle>

<description>The Pharisees and religious leaders have heard of all these great things Jesus has done with the most recent being how he fed a ginormous crowd with two fish and five loaves of bread. He always has crowds around him and they all seem to want a miracle from him. He never disappoints so they would go back home talking about what Jesus had done for them. The Pharisees are fed up with this guy and they won’t to put an end to his ministry so they find out where he is, they travel there, they find Jesus, and they are ready to pounce with their question so they can accuse him and disclaim that he is the Messiah. They really think they have him this time! What’s their accusation? Jesus’ disciples don’t ceremonially wash their hands before they eat and this goes against their tradition! Bro…this is what you come at Jesus with? Washing hands before supper? Dude…

<description>Luke ends chapter 7 with Jesus being invited to a home of a certain Pharisee named Simon. He has a bunch of his Pharisee buddies over so they can “get to know” Jesus a little better but as they are sitting around the table an uninvited guest disrupts the fellowship. She goes straight to Jesus, breaks an alabaster jar, and pours perfume on Jesus’ feet. She is crying as she is doing this and she washed his feet with her tears, then she takes her hair and wipes them dry. Simon, the Pharisee who invited Jesus into his home, questions Jesus in his mind, “If this man was a prophet, then he should know this woman is a sinner and he wouldn’t dare let this sinner do this!” Jesus calls him out in front of his friends and puts him in his place. This woman KNEW who she was, a sinner lost without hope and that Jesus could fix her. Simon THOUGHT he knew who he was but he really didn’t. He couldn’t recognize that he was a sinner in need of a Savior. What about you? Are you going to accept him or continue to reject him even though he is sitting in your house, at your table, and giving you every opportunity to know him in a personal way?
