Finishing up Luke 1 with some things to ponder:
Just because Zechariah talked with an angel and couldn’t talk any more after he didn’t believe Gabriel, he still continued his service to God in the temple.
• Do you remember a time that you had been praying for something for a long time and then the answer came?
• How did you feel? How did you react?God came through with His promise…Elizabeth became pregnant.
• 2 Corinthians 1:20 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.Why did Elizabeth go into seclusion for five months?
• Elizabeth is a great example of humility and meekness.
Luke ends chapter 1 with a prophecy from Zechariah that talks about Jesus being the mighty savior and how John will prepare the way for the Messiah. He is probably holding the baby, looking down at him in his arms, and he says in vs76, “And you my little son, will be called the prophet of the Most High because you will prepare the way for the Lord. What a proud dad moment!
